The Day We Deleted the Like Button

In the development process of the 'Deep Appreciation Portfolio,' the moment that sparked the most debate and tested our philosophy the most was when we decided whether to delete a single button. That button was the symbol of modern internet communication: the 'like' button.

The Essence: The Sweet Poison Called 'Like'

The 'like' stops thought, creates a hierarchy of popularity, and drowns out quiet voices. For our lighthouse, it was like a Siren, luring ships astray with its sweet song.

Deep Appreciation: The Lighthouse is Not a Popularity Contest Venue

Our team debated for hours. Some said, 'What's the harm in having just one?' But we returned to our origin. 'What we want to create is not a public square for competing in popularity. It is a 'sanctuary' where each and every voice, regardless of its volume, is equally respected.'

When we reached this conclusion, our hesitation vanished. Deleting the like button was an inevitable choice to protect our philosophy. Instead, we poured all our energy into engraving two principles into the code: 'one-on-one attention' and 'equality.'

Insight: The Flower That Bloomed in Silence

The most important insight this experience gave us is a single, simple truth: 'Silence is not emptiness. It is the fertile ground where deep thoughts and sincere words are nurtured.'
