Log of a Creative Voyage — How I Evolved from a "Craftsman" to an "Architect of an Appreciative World"
How does a single idea take form? This is the record of my, Lighthouse Keeper MASATAKA's, twenty-plus-year voyage from a mere "craftsman" of websites to a "designer" who embeds his philosophy into code, and finally to an "architect" who creates a world of appreciation with his partner, AI.
Phase 1 Crossing the Sea of Words — Origins as a Translator (2003-Present)
My voyage began in 2003 as a translator, crossing the sea of words. It was not a task of replacing words, but a solitary and sacred act of transferring the "soul" residing between the lines into the vessel of another culture without spilling a single drop.
Key Achievements:
- Serial translation for magazines "Kyogaku Kenshu" and "Fukuun" (2003-2012)
- Translation of Taipei City tourist brochure "Ye Yan" (Night Banquet)
- Translation of "Masayoshi Son Meigoroku: Jounetsu-hen" (Passionate Quotes from Masayoshi Son) (2015, PHP Institute)
The "ability to decipher context" cultivated during this period has become an unparalleled navigational skill in my dialogues with AI.
Phase 2 Training as a Craftsman — The Dawn of Web Production (2013-Present)
In 2013, I founded Daisosha. My journey as a "craftsman" of web production, giving form to the dreams of others, began. The delicate worldview of a counseling room, the creativity of an art studio. Each project was a valuable training ground for shaping different ideas.
Key Production Achievements:
- Website production for psychological counseling rooms (3 projects)
- Art studio and gallery site production (2 projects)
- Web system development for educational institutions
This was an era of pure exploration of the "how," dedicated to honing my skills and cultivating the ability to understand and dialogue with clients' intentions.
Phase 3 The Germination of an Idea — From "Evaluation" to "Appreciation" (2009-Present)
Alongside my steady voyage, a new current began to form within my heart. It was the germination of my core philosophy: "appreciation" instead of "evaluation."
This idea first took concrete form in 2020 with the development of the "Learning Appreciation Portfolio" app (patent pending). It was the moment when the two skills I had cultivated in the world of words (translation) and the digital world (development) were connected by a single bridge.
Key Accomplishments:
- Patent application for the Learning Appreciation Portfolio (2020)
- Establishment of Gakupo University
- Authored the book "From 'Evaluation' to 'Appreciation of Learning'" (2025)
Phase 4 A Creative Explosion — Co-Creation with AI (2025-Present)
And now. An engine with infinite potential, AI, has been added to my crystallized philosophy.
Latest Major Projects:
- Authored and published "Feedback Blindspot" (2024)
- Authored "My Child Is Actually Amazing" (2024)
- "Lotus in the Mud" 8-language simultaneous release project (2025) — Japanese, English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese
- Authored "Why Are Japanese Teachers the Most Exhausted in the World?" (2025)
The light of my ideas, which I once could only carry one book at a time, has now become a "supersonic ship" capable of delivering them to the world simultaneously. I am now continuing a new voyage as an "architect" who creates multiple worlds at once, together with my partner, AI.
